Apply for funding

You can apply to the foundation for the funding required for your project, up to 50 per cent of the total costs. Further information on funding opportunities and guidelines for submitting applications and implementing approved projects can be found in the forms section at the bottom of this page. Please only use the forms provided there. Please merge completed and signed applications, requests for funds or proof of use together with attachments into a single PDF file and send it by email to GFN@stiftung-ng.de. Please refrain from sending it by post.

The foundation is advised by the Scientific Commission for the Promotion and Further Development of Memorial Work in Lower Saxony when reviewing incoming funding applications and deciding on the allocation of funds. Applications for funding can be submitted at any time. Applications received by 31 March will be reviewed at the spring meeting of the Scientific Commission; applications received by 31 October will be reviewed at the autumn meeting of the Commission.

Support from the Klosterkammer Hannover

The Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation receives additional funding from the Klosterkammer Hannover for the further development of the education work of memorials and initiatives that deal with the crimes committed during the National Socialism era and their consequences.

Projects are supported that are carried out within the geographical funding area of the Klosterkammer and include educational programmes for schools and youth groups.

The Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation awards the funds in accordance with its "Guidelines on the awarding of grants to promote memorial work in Lower Saxony". Decisions on corresponding applications are made on the recommendation of the Scientific Commission.
